Bias towards shooters.
Never happen.
Gamespot is going to give this game an 8.0 because that is what Gamespot does.
This can all be explained in one sentence.
The U.S. is biased toward shooters.
@blacsheepxx
Heavenly Sword, at its current level of graphical performance, couldn't be done on the Xbox 360. Lair, at its current level of graphical performance, couldn't be done on Xbox 360.
What you are referring to as this "wow factor" is probably just bias towards the shooter genre.
This game is going to own to high heaven....heaven...heaven..hea ven..ly..SWORD; yeah that's it. We have already seen what Heavenly Sword can do in the genre. GOW3 will be better even than that. Heavenly Sword's visuals + God of War gameplay = 10.0. It'll even get a 9.5 from Gamespot.
I like to run in pool just a little bit to let the bottom of his pants legs get wet while his pants are dry above the knee, along with the rest of him.
This is not even half of the story. Here are just a few questions that need to be asked and answered, before anyone can tell what these number mean.
1. How much did they SPEND of 360 titles versus the other titles?
2. Did they release their PS3 titles at the same time they released their other titles?
3. Did they release the same number of titles on the PS3 as the 360, Wii, etc?
4. What were the titles that did release on each platf...
I don't think the game is that bad. It is all about controlling the dragon. It is just that the control system is so new and the gamer are unaccustomed to controlling a game that way.
I disagree with the idea that the game should be changed to force control via analog sticks. Perhaps analog stick control could be an option but most people who play the game will use the six-axis.
Think about how the options that you have in that game. The player has complete...
I fell for the "Lair is awful and Heavenly Sword is average" BS. I now see that lie for what it is, a player-hating, lie. You may be able to get away with saying that Lair is average, although from my experience it is pretty good once you learn to control the dragon. Heavenly Sword on the other hand is pure greatness. Heavenly Sword's in-game camera looks better than every other game's cut-scenes and FMV's; it looks THAT good. It plays that good also.
P.S.
The site that reported the bogus failure rates (GamesTM) is the same site that just gave Ratchet and Clank the score of 60%.
They are just trying to get hits by bashing the PS3.
@ theBishop Post #18 - Bubbles for you.
I was going to point out that 6.74GB is about as close as you can reasonably get to max capacity on a DVD-9. Microsoft puts about 1GB of security crap on every game disc. The leaves about 7.5 GBs of space for the game. The fact that all these games are coming in at approx. 6.5GBs is proof that they are all aiming to make 6-7GB games and are withholding content in order to make the game fit.

This is the same magazine that game Ratchet and Clank: TOD a 60%
Checking your friends list while you are in game is only important if you play online a lot. People like to forget this but still there are more people gaming offline than their are gaming online.
I doubt Blockbuster will go away but it will have to drastically change its business model.
Blockbuster has a lot of franchise stores. It looks as though those stores don't share their resources as much as they should to keep up with Netflix or Blockbuster online.
Simply put Blockbuster has to implement two changes.
1) The must implement one unified subscription service to Blockbuster online which includes memberships to every Blockbuster stor...
Should I buy Resistance or should I buy Warhawk?
I saw this deal in the store about a week after I bought my PS3(80GB) and Heavenly Sword separately. It plays all of my PS3 games, even MDK2 so I'm cool. But on this deal.
Heavenly Sword is the way I would go, but the controller is actually a better deal. Controllers don't depreciate in value like games do.
the the Wii will be in trouble. The PS2 sold about 8 million units this year, only 1 million less than the Wii. If Sony can position the PS2 as an alternative to the Wii in the mind of the consumers, then this move will work well for them. No developer will pass of the PS2's gigantic base in order to make a Wii-game unless they get paid to do so. From what I hear Nintendo doesn't like paying for exclusives.
This will probably happen. It just solves too many problems for Microsoft and Toshiba. Microsoft being an American brand can't sell products to the typical Japanese consumer, Toshiba wouldn't have that problem. Microsoft being a software maker has been unable to make and sell quality consoles at a profit in the six or seven years it has been in the business. Toshiba shouldn't have a problem doing that either. Toshiba doesn't have enough software to drive the demand for its HD-DVD hardwar...
The just wait until next year thing is getting old??????? How can it be when the system is still in its first year of life? All systems need a while to allow the developers time to get up to speed. People should just stop with the trying to call the race before the PS3 is even out of the gate.
Is it just me or do the bad reviews of PS3 titles come out before the games do.
The Assassins Creed reviews didn't come out until the game was on the selves. But it seems as if every one is reviewing Uncharted a full week before it is available for gamers to actually play.
If I remember correctly that happened with Heavenly Sword, Lair, and Ratchet although most Ratchet reviews are 9/10 or better.
I smell viral marketing. Uncharted Releases...
